Montenegro is increasingly positioning itself as the second destination in the region - right after Croatia - which the prestigious brand Sotheby's wants to present to the world as a real Mediterranean pearl treasure and one of the fastest growing tourist destinations. Sotheby's International Realty, recognized as a global leader in luxury real estate, will soon open its new representative office and office within the complex Porto Montenegro, starting from March this year. This exclusive international center, which includes a marina for superyachts, the Regent Hotel and high-end residential facilities, fits perfectly with the philosophy of the brand, whose services target the Mediterranean and European markets, while at the same time they want to highlight all the advantages of living along the Montenegrin coast.

This move represents an important strategic step for the promotion of Montenegro on the international stage, since Sotheby's aims to present our country as a top destination for luxury living and investments. Through its widespread business channels, social networks and network of clients, investors and customers, the brand will highlight the nautical settlement Tivat, as well as draw attention to the attractive real estate offers in the complex Porto Montenegro.

The extraordinary beauty and potential of the Montenegrin coast additionally confirm that opening an office in the heart of the most respected international community on the Adriatic is the right move. Niko Laković, partner and executive director of Montenegro Sotheby's International Realty, plays a key role in the realization of this project, whose experience and vision additionally encourage the development of the luxury real estate market.

After completing my studies and professional stay in London, I decided to return to Montenegro, which experienced an unprecedented boom in the real estate and investment sector in 2007, and I started working for British investment funds that were very active at that time with projects on the Montenegrin coast. At the end of 2009, I founded the company "Luxury Homes", which created a web platform Real estate.me, today recognized in the world of luxury real estate.

Guided by experience, I concluded that there are several names in the world of luxury real estate that set global business standards in our industry and whose presence would have a positive impact on our further development. Among them, of course, is Sotheby's. In the middle of 2019, I met my current business partner, who today owns the franchise for Montenegro. It is the Canadian Hunter Milborne, a veteran of the Sotheby's brand, a true legend in this business. The intention of bringing Sotheby's to Montenegro was facilitated by a good investment climate, high-quality projects such as Porto Montenegro, which was previously owned by, among others, the Rothschilds, the family of Canadian businessman Peter Munk, owner of the Louis Vuitton brand... That sophisticated tourist resort for megayachts is mostly responsible for positioning Montenegro as a serious nautical destination, and today our company's headquarters are located in Porto Montenegro.

– says Mr. Laković.

At the global level, the Sotheby's network includes 72 countries, with almost 1.000 offices and over 22.700 independent sales associates. The brand provides strong marketing and referral programs, which enables its clients to find ideal homes, investment properties or tailor-made resorts.
