The Tripković Palace was built in the late 18th century as one of the most imposing Baroque captains' palaces in the Bay of Kotor. In the 18th century, the Tripković family played a significant role in the development of Dobrota in the areas of trade, the development of the merchant navy, and construction and cultural development. They owned 18 ships, and during the 18th and 19th centuries, 86 seafarers from this family are mentioned, 63 of whom were captains.

The palace is set back from the coast and elevated on a platform, supported by a stone retaining wall with a long balustrade, on which is a „garden.” The enclosing wall features a portal with the family coat of arms. In front of the palace is a dock with a large boathouse, which belonged to the palace. Behind the palace are terraced gardens.

The palace is built of finely carved Korčula stone. It has a konoba, two floors, and a fourth level in the form of a belvedere, with a gable of baroque lines. At the very top, the belvedere has a turret-like ornament. The facade is dominated by a balcony on the second floor, whose supporting consoles are covered with ornaments featuring acanthus leaf motifs.

The palace consists of four levels:

  • Ground floor – main entrance with a random room and a small reception room.
  • On the first floor, there is a large living room, a dining room with a kitchen, and one bedroom.
  • Second floor – master bedroom and two additional bedrooms.
  • The third floor consists of a large living room with a fireplace and three bedrooms.

On the first floor, there is a central hall from which doorways lead to the adjacent rooms and to the staircase. The same layout is featured on the second floor. At the rear of the palace, facing the hill, there is an annex that housed the kitchen. The interior was characterized by two-toned terracotta floors, wooden beam ceilings, walls with Baroque plaster decoration, and a staircase with a balustrade. The palace was richly furnished with works of art, period furniture, and books.

The Tripković Palace is one of the most monumental palaces in the Bay of Kotor. Contributing to this monumentality are the palace's pedestal, the terrace with its baroque balustrade, the clear baroque design, and the richly detailed architectural elements, as well as the „backdrop” of this complex, formed by the rugged and bare Dobrota slopes that rise to a height of up to 1000 m above the sea.

After extensive research, consultation with numerous experts on the period when the palace was built, and several years of restoration work using original materials, the building has been restored to its full glory.
